The idea of joining a virtual class is scary! We understand that, but you don’t have to be a tech person to join our virtual classes and keep fit.

This article will tell you EXACTLY what to do.

The basics

Connecting to our virtual classes is actually super easy.

  1. Setup a workout space in your house. We recommend approximately 2.5m x 2.5m with overhead space.
  2. If you have a dumbell and jump rope, keep them close but these are optional
  3. Grab a phone, tablet, or computer with internet connection and click this link (at least 10 minutes before your first ever online class!!). The link is also included in your reservation confirmation email.
  4. The first time you join, you’ll have to download an app (Zoom). It’ll do it automatically.
  5. Allow the app to access your microphone and camera and join using ‘internet audio’.
  6. Once it downloads, you are in! Just point the device towards you so it can see you and you can see it.
  7. Try and position it so that we can see your whole body and workout space!
  8. If you want to listen to music during the workout plug in some bluetooth headphones and play your favorites, just make sure you can still hear the coach yell corrections at you!

SO WHAT’S THE BEST DEVICE SETUP?

This really depends on you!

We are using the video conference technology, Zoom, to host our classes for the time being.  All you need to know is that it will let our coaches see (and correct) you and let you see us (and your classmates).

So the obvious question…how do you connect?

Below are 3 options:

Option 1  – the easiest (Your smartphone)

The absolute easiest thing you can do is to use your phone and simply click on this link. It’ll have you download an app quick, but then you just set up your phone so it can see you and you can see it and you are done!

PROS: Super easy setup.

CONS: Super small screen. We can see you fine…it’ll be tough to fully see us.

Option 2  – a laptop, tablet or computer

If you have a laptop or tablet with video capability, use it! That screen will be WAY bigger than your phone.

You’ll likely want to look at us.  We will demo and coach some things for you, show you whiteboards and timers etc so bigger is better.

PROS: Much larger screen than your phone.

CONS: A little bulkier than a phone.

Option 3  – Best Quality

If you want to be a virtual class boss, then connect your computer to a TV or large computer screen.  Obviously that’ll require a space where you can fit one, but it’ll be awesome.

PROS: Super easy to see our demos and your friends/classmates.

CONS: Requires space and access to a larger screen…and some knowledge of how to connect a computer to a screen with an HDMI cable.

If you still have trouble connecting with us then just shoot us an email or send us a message. A technology issue is not an acceptable reason to not join us!
